These sources were great sources for my project in that they were able to establish  the creativce techniques and relays and I was able to involve many of the tehniqyes in order to express the points that I wanted to make through out the project. I did not use a lot of hypertext but I do know that from using, “The Jews Daughter” as a guide in order to make that point I was further able to understand how to express my accounts through narrative format and then the use of some animation not neccessarily so much f the hypertext. Even though the hypertext is good it is not neccessarily what is needed to express the ideas that I wanted to convey. The use of sound and historical photos is evident in my account of the current phenomena and stereotypes that the are going on in society as a result of development and technology. A few of th sources documented the affects that technology were having on society and community in a negative light which I  wanted to demonstate in my manipulated image of reinvention, but also of the positive gains that are being made with medicine and pharmacueticals as a result of  the technology. 

I have learned alot about myself, the fact that I am often times not honest with myself, I believ that the reason why I have chosen to go into the feild of Pharmacy is because of the fact that I number one want to help people in a direct way, I always have. Secondly I realize that I have a want to create something that can change and save lives. I do realize that the capitalism available with the pharmacy career is a motivator as well. I can see that although I love music, music is a mjor part of my life and technollogy provides me constant access to it. Although I am for the innovativeness of technology I am more and m0re against it as I see the termoil and divsion that it causes in society. I have learned to llok at patterns in my life and in films and at the messege that is available in anything that I do so that I can see how it relates to me and what I can do in order to change for more progress and to keep up with the everchanging experinces that I do have. Ulmer talked about how we have to forget our themata that has been taught throughout institutions and find our default mood, and so although I do know that I have found my total purpose or my complete default mood I do eel like I am closer to discovering the things that drive me, and I feel like I should conitinue the blogging excercises to keep up and document my changes and hopefully the changes in my emblem and remake. 

THE RATIONALE BEHIND THE CREATION OF MY CITE WAS QUITE CLEAR AFTER HAVING HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENGAGE IN SOME INTERNET, AND MEDIA SOURCES WHILE DOING THIS PROJECT. INDEED WE HAVE STRESSED MAKING THE POINT THIS ENTIRE SEMESTER ABOUT HOW THE ACT OF USING ELECTRACY AND MEDIA HAS EFFECTED THE WAYS IN WHICH OUR THEMATA AND OUR “STATE OF MIND” ARE SHAPED. THIS IS TRUE AND IT GOES BEYOND JUST SIME TYPE OF THEORY AND GUESS. IT IS TRUE IT IS IN THE TELEVISION MUSIC, CELL PHONES ANY THING THAT HAS BEEN DIGITALLY AND TECHNOLOGICALLY DEVELOPED THROUGHOUT THE 20TH CENTURY AND THE START OF INNOVATION. SUBLIMINAL MESSEGES AND MESSEGES ARE APPARENT AND EAL IN THE MUSIC SO IT GOES TO SHOW FOR EXAMPLE THAT ALTHOUGH ON THE SURFACE THERE SEEMS TO ONLY BE ONE MEANING THERE ARE ALWYS UNDERLYING MEANINGS INVOLVED IN THE LOGIC BEHIBD DOING ANYTHING SO WHILE IT MAY HAVE NO SIGNIFICANCE FOR SOMEONE ELSE, “AUDIENCE” THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT MEANING FOR THE CREATOR.  IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE CULTURALLY, AND GLOBALLY AWARE OF THE TECHNOOLOGICAL EVOLUTION THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY IN AND BE AWARE OF WHAT IS GOING ON.

IN MY SITE I MADE A POINT TO STRESS HOW TWO SEEMINGLY DIFFERENT ASOECTS OF SOCIETY TODAY ARE CONNECTED AND HOW THEY CAN BE MANIPULATED AND REINVETED AND I CHOSE TO USE PILLS AND MEDICINE BOTTLES FROM MY CAREER AND THEN PERSON TO PERSON COMMUNICATION IN THE WORLD THAT HAS BECOME IMPROVED YET DISTORTED DUE TO TECHNOLOGY. BOTH OF THESE THINGS PHARMACUETICALS AND TECHNOLOGY ARE BECOMING GLOBALLY SUCCESSFUL FEILDS AND THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO CONTROLA DNREACH THE PEOPLE. THE PERSON TO PERSON COMMUNICATION HAS BEEN LOST AND THE IDEA THAT “TECCHNOLOGY RULES THE WORLD IS BECOMING EVER PRESENT”, SO I LOOKED AT THIS AND I REALIZED THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO ADRESSED AND POSIBBLY INNOVATED. EVEN THOUGH MEDICINE IS NOT SOMETHING THAT IS ASWIDELY DISPERSED AS TECHNOLOGY II IS STILL A GLOBAL FACTOR OF CURRENCY AND CONTROL AND I FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS SOMETHING IMPORTANT IN MY CAREER, COMMUNITY, AND ENTERTAINMENT, BASICALLY ALL PARTS OF MY POPCYCLE. INITIALLY PILLS AND MEDICINE CONNECT MY MYSORY  TO CAREER, COMMUNITY, FAMIKY AND NOW THAT I REALIZE IT ENETERTAINMENT.

I WANTED TO INCOORPORATE  THE USE OF OTHER RELAY SITES SUCH AS LIGHT STARS IN A CLEAR SKY WHICH GAVE AN ACTUAL IMMULATION AND INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE SCOPE OF THE SITE. I KEPT SEEING THIS REPEATING THEME IN ACCOUNTS OF A GLASS SKY, AND OTHER WEBSITES WHERE THERE IS THIS SINCE OF “LIMITLESS” EPRESSED USING THE SKY AND THE OCEAN AND I REALLY LIKED HOW THAT CONNECTED TO MY SITE WHERE I USED THE SKY AND GALXY TO SHOW HOW TH BENEFITS AND THE INNOVATIONS OF MEDINCINE ARE GLOBAL AND LIMITLESS POSSIBILITIES.

I GOT THE IDEA OF USING THE SOUND WAVES, THE OLD STRING AND CUPIDEAS, AND THEN THE USE OF COMBINING OUR EXPERIENCES AND COMMUNITY TO COME UP WITH MY INNOVATIVE IMAGE FOR EXAMPLE ULMER WANTED US FROM THE BEGINING TO LEAVE LITERACY FOR ELECTRACY AND TELL A STORY OR EVNT THROUGH IMAGES AND I FEEL AD THOUGH THAT IS WHAT I HAVE DONE IN THIS ONE IMAGERY. I TOOK IDEAS OF THE WAVELENTHS FROM THE GLASS SKY, ULMERS ADVICE WHEN HE WAS DEALING WUTH HIS SON AND HOW HE DIDN’T WANT TO JUST COME OUT AND TELL HIM THAT HE REALLY DIDN’T WANT THE SPORTS CAR BASED ON HIS EXPERINECS. I WANTED TO SOW THAT BASED ON MY EXPERINCES WITH TECHNOLOGY THAT THERE IS A GAP BETWEEN HUMAN COMMUNICATION AND EMOTIONS THROUGH WORDS( I.E. TEXTMSGS, WEB, ETC.) BY USING PHOTOS. ALSO, I WANTED TO ADRESS VALUES AND HISTORY THROUGH THE USE OF THE OLD TELPHONE STRING AND HOW IT FIRST CAME ABOUT AND THEN NOT ONLY THAT SHOW IT’S EVOLUTUION. THE USE OF OLD PHOTOS CONNECTED TO NEW ONES WAS USED IN GLASS SKY ALSO. I USED LINKS AND FRAGMENTS AND WORDS TGO SHOW A CONTINUOUS FLOW AND CONNECTION THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SITE. THEMATA, CONJUNCTION AND MANY OF THE OTEHR TECHNIQUES THAT ULMER WANTED US TO REMEMBER ARE ALSO PRESENT IN THE COURSE OF MY WEBSITE.

ALSO,  THE THEME OF MY PROFILE LOOKS ALMOST TECHNOLOGICAL LIKE OUTER SPACE, BUT I CHOSE IT BECAUSE IT IS MODERN AND IT SHOWS A MODERN THEME WHICH ILLUSTRATES TO ME THE DIRECTIONS WHICH THE ELEMENTSOF MY POPCYCLE AND CAREER ARE HEADED IN.

This is something that I wanted to do in order to represent the sky meeting the water and the lips meeting the two bevause both are limitless and so are my possibilities. The way I communicate alot of the time is with my mouth , a lot of times people will remember me most for my humor, and my smile and I feel like for a large part of my life that I have been characterized using not only these two physical and personality traits alone but quite a bit.

 I used two images one of a sky and one of glaciers, which flucuated the transparency of both. I thin submerged the images of the lips and the carebear in various parts of the photo. I can not just see myself on land, stationary I am constantly in motion like the ocean and like the sky and at various times. Our emblems are everchanging just as we are. I chose not to manipulate the blue color of the ocean and to manipulate the color of the lips to represent a serene fill, flowing and free flowing also symbolic for water which is blue, it almost gives a free feel to the emblem. 

All of us, us being human beings were not born the same natural birth some had to fight for life. The thing is though we were all dependent on someone or something in some cases like a premature it was dependent upon the love, care, and medicine, a lifeline.

As we grow up we are still dependent but in a different realm even though we may start off struggling for life we grow… at times still dependent on the medicines but not ones substancial to life

The more we grow towards independence the more we move back towards depedence…

NOTICING Default MOODS 

It’s blazing hot outside she rounds  the curb with the wind blowing through her hair, Earth Wind and fire intertwining in the wind. Nearing the curb she makes the turn into Phillipian Community Church, music now on mute, the wind is still and silent, her voice no longer singing with the wind. One look in the rearview mirror, one more look at the riad behind, one last look at the hybrid voice wind, one last look at that care free mood that she had just had before she steps her foot off onto holy ground.  Entering inside a breathe of Heaven washing down upon her head as she steps inside the building, “Hello young lady, how are you its so good to see you its been such a longn time.” “Hi, I know its seems that I’ve just been disconnected, I’m just visiting from school this weekend.” Crash goes the symbols, boom, boom, tick tasct, ahhhh voices and instruments. Just then there is a disconnect with the mic and the  voice. She has this sign of humbleness as she approaches the doors to the sea of praise. A transition from this free  wind to this cased and humble and enept closure. The preacher is coercing the audience to say amen, thank you, sing the song. Still she makes her way to a seat among her firnds on the back row, the same row she consisitentlt sits on but not before greeting the people of the church that are so excited to see her  face in the building and as mucha s she is enjoying sharing this live and this sense of  reunion she can not help but realize that there is something that is different about the hug the conduction of feelings thar are shared. There is  a since of disconnect once again, jus like that mic that disconnected the voice from the congregation she thought. There waiting for her was her favorite cousins but not the innocent and smiling faces that she once knew now there is a face tired from birth, crying with milk, crying, but she suts anyway because she has history because she started as a small bundle.

The preacher coerces the audience, thank  you, yes, amen and she just sits there quite lips sealed, she won’t sing, she just looks sits, she doesnt bounce around spinning her hair, loud and free, she is not outside,  her feet have hit holy ground she is silent and content she is what she sees what she has learned.

She  can not connect, time space, disconnect is ever present. The energy outlet for her power up is no longer fully powered by the church there is this sort of connect to something else there is a shortage and its generator lies just outside the door in the interwtwined wind mixed with the voice and the song Earth, Wind, and Fire.

When she could no longer stand the shock of the disconnect from the atmosphere singing, dancing, yelling, amen… just as she was preparing to leave the preacher said these words…, ” Outside these forewalls lies life, there lies people, song, wind, and experience but, outside also lies danger, reret, the unknown, hurt and disconnect. If it starts to rain to hard outside and the wind stops blowing and you began to short out coem back to the church, come back to this congregation there is an electrician that is higher than me ir you that can rewire you and the wind and the song that you used to sing outside these walls will no longer move your soul, inside here is where your life becomes whole.” 

There was a lot of adverstisement on the plain of a typical city life and this is similar to the idea that we have learned about in Internet Invention in Ulmer. There was the use of the arial view which I was able to relate to our mapping excercise at the very begining of the course. The detail of the people had no significance.  There were many figureswho would not generally playing these roles in their normal advertisement but have been placed theoretically in the film. Mc.Donalds is made out to seem like a crook or a vilan pinned against the people or the company as a monopoly. This is interestin g because the normal Mc. Donalds is a friendly character or Ronald Mc. Donald that is is usually appealed to the children. IN the film he is violent towards them.

A lot of popularixed characters for certain companies are out of charcter. Mc. Donalds is pictured as polluting the Earth, rogue when the truck tips over and all these toxins are in the back when really its the food that it produces that is harming the world’s people. It is harming the very thing that it appeals to which are the children.  The toxic things in the back of the Mc. Donald’s pick-up truck symbolize the food.

The symbols or real life scenerios that the advertisements represent are placed in the actual parts of socirty where they might be found like the Paramount lion in the zoo, and the Evan water which is found in mountains and this where it was shown in the film. The shapes of different things  such as the cigarette boxes, toothpaste boxes and the beer boxes were placed on the streets of the city asthey might be used as buildings.

The X-Box emblen that comes during the Earthquake. The want for oil is destroying socirty and taking under the economy.

The earthquakes and the flooding of the Earth is to me a representation of the self-destructive nature that Earth is headed in. Kind of like these natural disasters.

Although this is a rather emotional song I love music it is one of  my passions and I am extremely versitle when it comes to genres of music and the various art forms of music and its lifestyles that come with it.

The mood evoked by the film is one that is extremely emotional it doesn’t necessarily talk about being in love but it also deals with the struggles of life and for me while I was doing this particular excercise this song stood out to me because it explains all the emotions that are going through my head at this very instance. It just made me think about how I am growing up and the decisions and aspirations that I have for my life  are not necessarily going to line up with those of my parents and loved ones and the bottom line I see is that it is my life and long as I am making positive decisions then it does not really matter what is thought to a certain extent.  I could not just select inbe verse or the chorus of the song I had to use them all because a fragment could not convey the complete feeling of yearning and of that longing to be heard to beable to be free and to express who one is without have to censor oneself for the exceptance and validation of others despite the fact that they may be family or friends.

BEING SINGULAR 

What characterizes me? Is it my smile or is my personality my kindness, or my humor that has favored me in the eyes of others?

Throughout my life it seems as if I have always been the one to be confided in and the one that has been looked to for the on-going happiness and humor and if that isn’t present then it is taken that there is something ethically wrong with me, but why? This is the case at my birth home in Jacksonville Florida and in my home that is being built and is underconstructiin here i Gainesville at UF. A spirit or vibe that is itself vibrant, able to lighten the harshest of moods and  see the good in the worst situations and in people.

In my career as a pharamacist the qualities such as my kindness, confidence, and since of humor are needed to number approach the customer, clients, and or patients with people skills. Sometimes the newsof prices or availability of the prescriptions and new developments may have to be expressed in a way suchas humor. Having an overall wellness in realtion to my Career discourse and these qualities distorts the intensity of such a serious profession.

Not only has my kindness, humor and  confidence made an impact at home, but everywhere including but not limited to church, school and work.  Having develope these qualities among my family and friends from such a young  age it is difficult at times to connduct myself in such a professional and serious manner. However, I know there is a time and indeed a place to exemplify certain qualities that are apart of me but do not necessarily define me, because me an individual is everchanging and always experiencing new things kind of like the pursuit of my wide- image. 

Entertainment and the web are extremely important to validating and impacting my characteristics. For example I love scary movies, comedies and romance ” Seven Pounds, What happens in Vegas” and music as I have mentioned before I love all music because there is always a story in music that can tell about  my life.

Other techniques and concepts which are connecting are the Excercise which we did that talks about our community and that was Ulmer’s Chapter 7 and 8 with Project 2 where we had to create an entire sketch of some community event, or celebration which has shaped our community and that has shaped our lives throught the voice of a community person or figure. This is a direct correlation to one of our relays, ” Dave Chapelle’s Block Party”and then High Concept with “Brick”. Also, I have noticed that throughout all of our Excercises and our two Projects that we have had the task of connecting our own memerories and experiences to whatever concepts that Ulmer has wanted us to discover or grasp in search of our wide image.  The idea which Ulmer discussed in the conference about Avatar is becomng more prominant in our Excercises and our site since we are begining to completely remove ourselves from our sites. Even though we are completely the Institutions of the popcycle as we began with family, school discourse, Church we are now moving into combining our communtiy and family together with our career and then our Career family, community into the Entertainent realm to discover self. Its intereasting that we have decided to choose Entertainment for the last part of popcycle, when Entertainment and the Internet are the very things that shape our themata and state of mind. These two concepts( themata and state of mind) are also recurring themes in our present and upcoming excersies and our final site. This was apparent our first blog as we had to talk about our first experiences with some form of media which was the television and formost of us this was at avery young age. This definitely has shaped our default moods and thought processes. Also in Excercise 1 where we had to map our locations and memories, our story onto a map this is linked to Project 2 and how we had to make our story through High Concept onto a Readymade narrative.  From having done all this I believe that my wide image would have been shaped like an upside down flag on a flagpole.
